AUSTEN SMITH

Austen Smith is the Visionary Leader of Our Lunar Intelligence and the creative director of ImaginationDoulas. Austen is a queer, & non-binary multi-hyphenate creative and social researcher with over two decades of experience in creative writing, storytelling, ritual performance, and herbalism.

Their creative background is complemented by a 17-year career in social work, community participatory research, and program evaluation. Their most recent projects include co-developing culturally sensitive federal gender data elements for emergency shelters that are HUD recipients, program evaluation for an organization addressing redlining, and program evaluation for a language justice organization offering translation and interpretation services for immigrant homeowners.

Currently, Austen is working on developing a new OLi program and writing their first book, Returning to Obsidian: Creativity and the Afterlife of Imagination.
